Robots in disguise
Transformers Movie
As for the concert it was alright but not great. They only played for an hour and 5 minutes... Talk about a short set. They ended the show with Buddy Holly and the encore with Hash Pipe. Both were really well done. Unfortunately, the concert ended at 11:20 so by the time we cabbed to the train station, we missed the 11:30 train. So we were stuck at this train station in the middle of nowhere, New York until the 12:40 train arrived.
Quote of the day: "Next week I'm moving back to St. Louis, Missiouri, good ol' Middle-America where all the real patriotic-folk Bush keeps talking about live. Mmm mmm. That's America." (more or less) - Our crackpot cabbie

From a blissful morning to a painful one...
So, unfortunately last night I didn't get nearly the kind of sleep that I need to in order to be a productive member of society. Not only was the walk to work not blissful, it was quite tiring. I did my work and even put in a few hours of overtime but it required the aid of Captain Caffeine. Also, at the end of the day, one of my coworkers said that I seemed tired and not at 100%... He's not my boss or anything but I don't want to start giving off that impression. So, tonight I'm going to get some more sleep.
Aside from that, I'm pretty pumped for tomorrow. I'm going to see Weezer and Taking Back Sunday! I can't promise a Gordner-quality concert review but I'll see if I can throw up a picture or two.

It felt like I was in a movie...
I had the weirdest walk to work this morning. Nothing extraodinary happened it was just the way I felt as I walked... I was completely at peace. Even though I knew that my legs were sore from working out I didn't feel the pain. There were cars honking and the typical random sounds but it just sounded like the volume on life was turned down to a hush. Everything was busy and moving but at the same time tranquil and calm. I dunno how to explain it really but it was amazing. It was like I was walking to work and I was completely at peace and completely relaxed (and it was a Monday morning, how weird is that?!?!). Anyway, it was a really serene experience, like nothing else I've ever experienced. Hmm, perhaps a good comparison would be how Peter Gibbons (the main character from Office Space) felt after he went to the hypnotherapist...
Anyway, I'm gonna read some more of 'Tuesdays with Morrie' and then go to bed. It's an amazing book by the way and such an easy read.

Two of my friends from Software Engineering came to visit me during the long weekend. We had an awesome time and spent way too much money, but it was a lot of fun. We saw the play Chicago which was kinda disappointing despite the good reviews, went to a stand up comedy club and a whole buch more (ground zero, central park, etc.) We also found some time to pose in front of the Statue of Liberty. Good times!! If you wanna see New York this summer, please come visit!!

PINK FLOYD!!!!
I can't believe I didn't hear about this event before Saturday... Well, I heard about Live8 but I didn't hear that Pink Floyd would be performing!!!! Anyway, I just downloaded a recording of their performance and man was I ever blown away. These guys are wayyyy too old but they're still amazing!! All of the songs sounded really good except the vocals for Wish You Were Here were a bit shaky but I really can't complain considering how old these guys are. Instrument-wise they were fantastic and it renewed my love of Pink Floyd. I know they've said - and are continuing to say - that they will never have a reunion tour but oh my god, just imagine the possibilities... If they got together for this, maybe somehow they'll find away to throw together a tour. If they come to Toronto, I'll pay top dollar to see them!
